Samir TimajChi
Samir TimajChi is an Iran-born, world-citizen composer. His experimentation with different ways of perceiving, thinking, and sharing began in September 1992 and continues throughout Iran, Russia, and several European countries.
While studying at the University of Music Dresden, the St. Petersburg Conservatory, BIHE University, and in private lessons, he was mentored by notable composers, including Chaya Czernowin, Sarah Nemtsov, Stefan Prins, Alexander Radvilovich, Mehran Rouhani, Farshid Samandari, Steven Takasugi, and Manos Tsangaris.
His work has been performed at concerts and festivals such as International Music Institute Darmstadt, reMusik.org, and Voices Berlin Festival, by ensembles including Arditti Quartet, AuditivVokal, and Sinfonietta Dresden.
Alongside his academic and professional endeavours, he is co-founder and former curator of the JUST Ensemble based in St. Petersburg. He sees himself as someone transforming from a consumer into a creator.
