Ilia Viazov

Ilia Viazov, composer, sound artist, and recorder player was born in Voronezh, Russia in 1999. At 16, he began his professional musical education at the Voronezh Music Academy as a bassoon player and then continued it at the Gnesin Family Music Academy in Moscow. He then attended the Moscow Conservatory and studied composition with Vladimir Tarnopolsky and Yuri Kasparov and electroacoustics with Nikolay Khrust and Alexey Nadzharov. Due to the actions of the Russian government and the war with Ukraine, he left his home country in October 2022. In October 2024, he continued his studies at Musikhochschule Lübeck as Bachelor in Composition and Sound Art. Currently he studies with Nicola Leonard Hein and Milica Djordjevic.
