Katsiaryna Sheliahovich

Katsiaryna Sheliahovich (b. 1992, Minsk) is an interdisciplinary installation artist whose practice is rooted in material transformation, practice-based research, and social inquiry. Her background in furniture and object design shapes her attention to form, construction, and the physical honesty of materials, while her artistic practice redirects these concerns into research-led works where objects lose their original function and acquire new social and symbolic charge.

Her practice has developed across Belarus, Poland, Greece, and Italy, shaped by migration, the loss of home, and the political impossibility of returning to Belarus. Working with altered objects, everyday, found, and reused materials, natural elements, sound, light, and kinetic systems, Sheliahovich creates material, sensory, and sculptural works in which systems of control, social memory, care, and resistance are held by objects, materials, rituals, and symbolic forms.

Her work has been presented at Viafarini (IT), Gaudeamus Festival (NL), CCA Tbilisi (GE), Onassis Stegi Foundation (GR), and Domaine de Boisbuchet (FR). She is also the creator of the Archive, a research project on Belarusian visual culture through contemporary media.
